This post is about New Year's resolutions. What I don't understand is why so many problems turn up at 12.01 a.m. on January 1 that people weren't aware of in the months prior. If you need to lose weight, start exercising, drink less, eat less cheese (just listing the normal culprits) then surely you realized in June, or August, or November that your waist band was getting a little tight, you were struggling to use the stairs, or felt seedy and hungover most mornings? Why not do something about it then? Why wait: what magic does the date January 1 hold that somehow September 24 does not? Do you need a bunch of drunk people shouting "happy New Year!!" to get motivated? Self-esteem would surely be a bigger driver of success. Just think how far you'd have got by now if you started fixing the problem when you realized the problem existed.
People who seize the wrong day: 1 star.
