About Me

Welcome to Review Yo' Ass. I have taken the title from the Parks and Rec phrase “Treat Yo' Self”, and I am Treating Myself by Reviewing Yo' Ass. Simply put, it has been a worrying time seeing America re-elect a clown (I am trying to be charitable here) and his cabal, especially with the impact on women. In times of worry it is recommended to journal thoughts to get them out, or to write letters to people that are annoying you and never send them. So, with a Myles Barlow-esque nod this is my way of dealing with my angst at the state of America right now: by Reviewing Yo' Ass and posting it here. Reviews are out of 5 stars.

Rung theory.

I'm not reviewing Plato, Marx, or Weber's hierarchical ladders here (get a kick out of using those names in a sentence!) but a ladder I call The Ladder of Doom. I was at a music school this week, and a person told me why they think white women and black men voted for DT and his Cabal. The explanation was there is a ladder with white men on the top rung, white women on the next rung down; black women on the bottom rung, black men on the next rung up. White women voted for DT and his Cabal as they want to protect their second rung in society; black men did so they don't get overtaken on the rungs by black women - no one wants the bottom rung. You can see why I call it The Ladder of Doom. This is what America has become? Acting in no one's best interests to protect yo' rung? Please put this ladder away in the dark, spidery corner of the shed where it belongs. I would give it 1 star, but according to rung theory I'm not on the bottom. Though very happy for others to share my rung.

Ladders that should be put away in the shed: 2 stars.
